Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Who's eligible for membership?

Children & adults of ALL ages living in Lowndes County, GA & surrounding areas with an autism diagnosis.

  2. How much is a membership?

A family can obtain an annual membership for their child(ren) for $20. A family will not be required to pay more than $20, even if they have more than one individual on the spectrum.

  3. My child has a green FAST Membership card or a digital 2022/2023 Membership card. Are these numbers still valid? Will the number stay the same?

No, the green laminated cards are from 2021 & any digital cards or membership numbers previous years will not be valid. FAST Members for 2024 will receive a NEW number for this year & a new digital Membership card. It changes each year for registration purposes.

  4. I have more than one child on the spectrum, is it $20 per child or per family?

The annual membership fee covers one or more children with autism in your family. A family will not be expected to pay more than $20, even if they have more than one child with autism.

  5. Can my child with autism attend an event or class without a membership?

Yes, but standard registration and/or admission fees will apply. Also, please note that priority is given to members for events with limited capacity. Sometimes events fill up before they are shared with the public.

  6. How long is the membership valid?

Memberships run from February 1st to January 31st. All 2024 FAST Memberships will expire on January 31, 2025.

  7. How do I purchase a membership?

Submit the membership form. Proof of diagnosis may be requested. After submitting, you will receive an invoice via email.

  8. How do I get a membership card?

After you sign up for membership & pay your fee, we will email you a digital membership card. If you have more than one child on the spectrum, each child will receive their own digital card & number.

  9. Will siblings get free admission to events as well with membership?

Only the FAST member (child with autism) will receive a membership number and membership card for free admission to qualifying events. In some instances, siblings are included free of charge, but usually standard admission rates apply to other family members. Misuse of FAST Membership will result in membership being revoked or suspended.

  10. My child doesn't have an official autism diagnosis. Are they eligible?

We may request proof of a child's diagnosis when they become a member. However, if you do not have an official diagnosis at this time, please reach out to us. We understand there are long waiting lists, insurance issues, delays, etc. that can prolong the process of getting a diagnosis. We will make eligibility determinations on a case-by-case basis.

  11. Is the membership fee pro-rated through the year, depending on when we sign-up?

No pro-rating will be offered. However, it's a great value & quickly pays for itself no matter what time of year you join! Plus, your membership fee helps support FAST!

  12. Are memberships required to attend everything FAST offers?

No, not necessarily. We will specify whether or not membership is required for free entry to events. Please note that priority is given to members for events with limited capacity, and at times, events may fill up before we have a chance to post to the public.

  13. Are memberships required to attend informational meetings?

No, informational meetings are free to the public. Families and professionals in the Lowndes County and surrounding areas can attend at anytime.

  14. Can I pay for a membership the same day of an event or class so my child will get free entry?

Membership must be obtained prior to the day of the event. Your child is still welcome to attend, but standard admission and/or registration fees may apply.
